Pastor Levi Lusko’s 70-year-old father has been cleared for pancreatic cancer surgery after weeks of chemotherapy.
Three months after announcing that his father Chip Lusko was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, Fresh Life Church pastor Levi Lusko took to Instagram to reveal that he has been cleared for surgery.
The announcement came after the June update from Lusko notifying the public that his father was undergoing chemotherapy. At the time, he solicited prayers and expressed unwavering “hope there has been a miracle and no spread or better.”
However, in the Wednesday Instagram update, Lusko expressed gratitude to God and to those who had him in prayers as there was no spread. He noted however that the journey “has had its share of setbacks and scares.”
“Good news alert after many weeks of chemo my dad’s pet scans today revealed that the cancer has not spread and he has been cleared for surgery on September 1st. The journey has had its share of setbacks and scares. Most notably several er visits and a hospitalization for some infections and other issues his body has had a difficult time dealing with in his depleted condition.” Lusko wrote.
He acknowledged God’s miraculous help in his healing as well as the effort of the medical professional.
“But Jesus has been kind, the saints have been praying, the doctors and nurses have been skillful and he has been a trooper. So we are celebrating this victorious milestone and thanking God”
In May, Lusko solicited prayers for his father who he disclosed was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Chip Lusko was hospitalized during Easter in the course of which the cancerous tumor was discovered.
“Friends, will you please pray with me for my dad? He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and we are asking for God to intervene and touch his body. The last few weeks have been a blur. He was hospitalized over Easter and it was God’s mercy that the tumor was discovered before it spread.”
Lusko is believing and prays that his father’s health is restored before Christmas.
